THE AFTERLIFE CAN SUCK IT
Seventeen-year-old Charleigh Rae had big plans for senior year: she was going to branch out—apply to out-of-state colleges and finally figure out if her bi-curiosity was something more than just curiosity. Dying in a car accident wasn’t what she had in mind. And if heaven was supposed to be like one continuous spa day with all-you-can-eat Krispy Kreme donuts and cool dead-girl clothes, she’s definitely not there. Because she’s stuck in the same shorts and tank top with the mustard stain that she had on when she died.
Not only that, but she’s inexplicably trapped hanging out in ghost form with her ex-friend and star quarterback, Trevor Warren. Even worse, he’s the only person who can see or hear her, and his life is possibly more tragic than hers: a cheating girlfriend, an absent father, and a mom at the end of her rope. Something more is weighing on Trevor too, but Charleigh has too much on her plate to worry about fixing his problems.
With an un-smart watch on her wrist counting down her time between death and whatever comes next, Charleigh has to figure out not just how to cross over but she needs to pack a lifetime of experiences into her final fifteen days even though she isn’t alive to live them, and the only person who could possibly help is a boy she’s not even sure she can count on.
Death is terrible, but the afterlife can straight up suck it.
